HGL Group at the King's Birthday Party 2026:
Diplomacy and Partnership in Budapest
In the world of international logistics, visibility and reputation are just as important as operational excellence. On June 10, 2026, HGL Group had the distinct honour of participating at the official birthday celebration of His Majesty King Charles III, hosted by the British Embassy in Budapest.
The event brought together hundreds of guests from Hungary’s political, governmental, business, and cultural circles for an elegant garden party at the historic Ambassador’s Residence.
A Historic Venue and a Special Occasion
The King’s Birthday Party is one of the most anticipated annual diplomatic events in Budapest. This year’s celebration was particularly special, as it marked the 100th anniversary of the Ambassador’s Residence. Built in 1925, the building has served as the home of successive British Ambassadors for over 75 years, standing as a powerful symbol of the enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and Hungary.
The celebration also served as a personal farewell for His Excellency Paul Fox, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Hungary, who is preparing to leave his post after five years of memorable diplomatic service. In his welcoming address, the Ambassador highlighted the strong commercial ties between the two nations, noting that trade was valued at over £8 billion in 2024, representing a 20% increase from the previous year.
HGL Group at the Event
For HGL Group, taking part in this prestigious celebration was an excellent opportunity to strengthen international connections and engage with key representatives from the diplomatic and business communities.
Throughout the event, our team welcomed guests at the HGL Group stand located in the beautiful gardens of the Residence, providing a welcoming space for conversations, networking, and the exchange of ideas.
During the official programme, HGL Group was acknowledged by the Ambassador among the organisations that contributed to the success of the celebration. Being part of such a distinguished gathering further reflects our long-standing commitment to building trusted partnerships and supporting international cooperation across Europe.
The Value of Presence and Conversation
Unlike traditional industry conferences or trade fairs, the King’s Birthday Party offers a completely different atmosphere. The focus here is not on hard sales or immediate business transactions, but rather on informal conversation, mutual respect, and long-term relationship building.
Several of our colleagues attended the event, taking the opportunity to engage with representatives from various sectors, including diplomats, multinational corporations, and cultural leaders. The relaxed garden party setting, complete with fine food, drinks, and live music, created the perfect environment for genuine interactions.
“Being present at an event of this caliber is incredibly important for our brand. It is not about exchanging business cards; it is about showing that HGL Group is an active, respected participant in the international business community. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was a privilege to represent the company in such a historic setting.”

Looking Forward
As the United Kingdom remains one of the biggest investors in Hungary, the commercial and logistical ties between the two countries will only continue to grow. This event was particularly meaningful for HGL Group, as the company is entirely Hungarian in its operations and team, yet the owner himself has British roots, making the celebration of the British-Hungarian relationship a genuinely personal occasion. HGL Group is proud to play a role in facilitating this international trade, providing the reliable freight forwarding and supply chain solutions that businesses need to succeed.
We extend our sincere thanks to the British Embassy in Budapest for hosting such a magnificent event, and we look forward to continuing our support for the British-Hungarian business community in the years to come.
