From Hong Kong to Budapest: Building Partnerships, Sharing Ideas and Creating Memories at HGL
HKTDC Budapest Visit: Inside HGL’s BUD Cargo City Operations
During a HKTDC Budapest visit on 16 September 2026, HGL Group Hungary welcomed a delegation from the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to our operations at BUD Cargo City.
The HKTDC is Hong Kong’s statutory trade and investment promotion organization, connecting companies and institutions with international business opportunities. Their visit gave us a chance to exchange ideas, discuss potential cooperation and show our guests how HGL supports businesses entering and operating in the European market.
We presented our capabilities across several specialist areas, including e-commerce fulfilment, customs brokerage and clearance, film-industry logistics, project cargo (oversized and heavy-lift shipments) and warehousing. We also walked the delegation through our BUD Cargo City warehouse floor, showing how shipments move from arrival to final-mile delivery.
We also discussed the importance of Budapest Airport as a gateway to Central and Eastern Europe, supported by customs expertise, road transport and integrated logistics solutions. Both teams agreed that Budapest’s central position within the EU, combined with HGL’s customs and warehousing capacity, gives Hong Kong exporters a practical entry point into the region.
For us, logistics means managing every detail with precision, accuracy and speed, while understanding the people, deadlines and business goals behind every shipment.
Just as important is building relationships. Following the presentation and warehouse visit, both parties exchanged gifts as a gesture of appreciation and respect.
As a thank you for our hospitality, HKTDC brought us a collectible Hong Kong Blue & White Porcelain Teacup Set. In return for visiting our company, a personalised Montblanc HGL-branded pens have been gifted to each delegate.
