Behind every world tour, there is a precise logistical operation ensuring that all of the necessary equipment arrives on time and intact at the next stop. This was no different for Lenny Kravitz’s summer performance in Budapest.
HGL Group was recently tasked with transporting promotional materials from Budapest to Sandefjord, Norway, on behalf of the company By the Pond. In this case, the challenge wasn’t the size of the shipment, but rather the emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. The destination is located approximately 1,500 kilometers from Budapest, and since Norway is not a member of the European Union, HGL also handled both export and import customs clearance.
Lenny Kravitz – A legend in Budapest
Lenny Kravitz’s name is synonymous with flawless live performances. The Papp László Budapest Sportaréna once again witnessed how the artist can electrify an audience. With a best-of setlist, he performed iconic songs like The Chamber, American Woman, and Let Love Rule.
However, on tour, it is not only the stage technology that plays a crucial role—promotional materials are just as important. They shape the event’s visual identity, support merchandising campaigns, and enhance the overall fan experience.
The logistics challenges of a Tour – how does such a shipment happen?
From a logistics perspective, an international tour requires extensive planning, as the artist’s equipment, technical gear, and promotional materials come from different locations, with varying deadlines and transportation conditions.
The biggest challenges in such a shipment:
- Meeting deadlines – A concert tour leaves no room for delays; every arrival time is precisely scheduled.
- International customs clearance – Different countries have different regulations for tour equipment, making quick and efficient customs processing essential.
- Secure packaging – Promotional products must be transported safely to ensure they arrive at the venue undamaged.
The expert team at HGL Group ensured that the shipment arrived smoothly and on time in Sandefjord, where the organizers of the next stop on the tour were already waiting for the materials.
It seems that rock legends and HGL often cross paths – having recently been involved in the transportation logistics for Bryan Adams’ Budapest concert as well. Could it be that their next tours will merge, allowing us to load their guitars into the same truck? One thing is certain: whether it’s Lenny Kravitz, Bryan Adams, or an entire band’s equipment, we always ensure that everything arrives on time and in perfect condition – because the show must go on!
