The artists of the Győri Ballet performed again in Bogotá, Colombia, at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo at the end of January 2024. This time, the company presented the highly successful choreography Anna Karenina by László Velekei four times in front of an audience of 1300 people.
The performances were a huge success. The Hungarian artists enchanted the Colombian audience, with applause and loud ovations for all four performances.
The Győri Ballet joined the Bejár Ballet, the Monte-Carlo Ballet, the Royal Ballet of London and the Nederlands Dans Theater of the Netherlands among the artists who performed on this prestigious stage.
Over the past 45 years, the Győri Ballet has represented the city on numerous international stages. It was a special pleasure for the company to be in Colombia for the second time, and it is no secret that they are also in talks with the South American professionals about a continuation.
Behind the curtain of the HGL Group
HGL Group played a key role in the success of Győri Ballet’s tour of Colombia, as the logistics company ensured that the company’s equipment and facilities were transported from Budapest to Bogotá.
László Velekei, Director of the Győri Ballet, said that the operation went very well. The company travelled smoothly and suitcases, costumes and sets arrived in Bogotá on time.
The logistics company also took care of the luggage after the tour was over.
This project is not the first time that HGL Group and Győr Ballet have worked together. In November 2023, our company transported 18 crates, a total of 2.5 tons of sets and costumes from Bogota’s Teatro Mayor theatre to Győr, supporting the company in another outstanding international event.
These successful projects demonstrate not only the strong relationship between the two organisations, but also the HGL Group’s commitment to culture and the arts. We are proud to contribute to the promotion of Hungarian culture throughout the world.
